West Midlands Ambulance Service held its Annual Volunteers Award Ceremony during March 2010.

At that Ceremony three of the Brewood & District Community First Responders received recognition of their Service.

Chris Peters was awarded the 'South Staffordshire Community First Responder of the Year' in recognition of his Services 'above and beyond the call of duty' for the very high number of calls he attended throughout the year and in particular for achieving over 60 reponses during December 2009.

Dave Copcutt and Ann Peters were both presented with a 'Chief Officer's Commendation' for their Services 'above and beyond the call of duty' at a particularly challenging incident where there were nine people requiring Ambulance Service attention during a house fire. Brewood and District Community First Responders took responsibility for the immediate health needs of all nine until the arrival of the Paramedic. Seven of the nine victims were children aged between 3 weeks and 15 years old.
